Citing your source when using the DICE services

Mention us in the acknowledgements section

When publishing research results obtained by using DICE services or their data, please state the following (or a similar expression) as an acknowledgement.

"This research was conducted (in part) using the [service name/database name] provided by the Materials Data Platform (MDPF) of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS)."

Cite us

When citing a DICE service and/or its data in a paper or any other research output, please cite us in the following way.

When citing a service or database

  1. Please select an appropriate paper from the List of Papers for Citing DICE and cite it.
  2. If there is no appropriate reference, please use the following format:
    3. "Service/Database name: Service/Database URL National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), access date."
    Example:
    PoLyInfo: https://polymer.nims.go.jp/ National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), accessed August 1, 2024.

When citing data or a dataset

  1. If the data/dataset has a DOI, please cite using the DOI.
  2. If the data/dataset does not have a DOI, please use the following format:
    3. "Service/Database name: Data/Dataset URL National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), access date."
    Example:
    PoLyInfo: https://polymer.nims.go.jp/PoLyInfo/xxxxx National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), accessed August 1, 2024.
