Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Is there a charge for using each service?
    It is available free of charge except for some services.
  • How can I use the service?
    Please select the service you want from the data service tab and check the usage method and terms of use. Some services require user registration to use.
  • Where can I login from?
    Please use the login button shown for each service.
  • I cannot log in to the servise.
    In DICE, some services log in with a common account, others log in with a service-specific account. Please check if the service you use and the login account match.

Materials Data Repository (MDR)

  • My web browser showed a blank page when browsing through MDR.

    MDR may show a blank page when viewing many pages repeatedly. If that happens, please wait for a few seconds and reload the page to resume browsing.

NIMS Materials Database (MatNavi)

  • I cannot log in.

    The following possibilities are considered.


    - On December 1, 2020, MatNavi was migrated to new user registration and authentication systems.
     For this reason, you will not be able to log in with user information registered before November 30.
     We apologize for the inconvenience, so please register for MatNavi again from the following new user registration page.
     - New User Registration


    - If you make a mistake with your password several times in a row, your account will be locked.
     Once your account is locked, you will not be able to log in for 90 minutes.
     Please try to log in again after the lock is removed.

  • I did not receive an email invitation to reset my password. / I cannot reset my password.

    The following possibilities are considered.


    - On December 1, 2020, MatNavi was migrated to new user registration and authentication systems.
     For this reason, NO password reset notification e-mails will be sent for user information (e-mail addresses) registered before November 30.
     We apologize for the inconvenience, so please register for MatNavi again from the following new user registration page.
     - New User Registration


    - There is a possibility that you did not receive the e-mail message because it is not the e-mail address you registered with MatNavi.
     Please check your registered e-mail address and reset your password again.


    - If you make a mistake with your password several times in a row, your account will be locked.
     You cannot reset your password while your account is locked (90 minutes).
     Please wait for 90 minutes before trying to reset your password.


    - Your Internet provider or email service may be blocking your email.
     Please contact us at mdpf-support=ml.nims.go.jp ( [ = ] → [ @ ] ).

  • How can I modify my E-mail address?
    Please register new E-mail address after closing old account, because it can't update your E-mail address.
  • What are the system requirements for MatNavi?

    The system requirements are different for each database.
    Please see the introduction page of each database for details.

  • Can I download all data or get by using API?
    We do not provide data download function or API function.
