概要 Introduction
材料データリポジトリ (MDR: Materials Data Repository) は、研究データや文献を収集・保存し、物質・材料研究やデータ活用型材料研究での利用に適した形で公開するためのデータリポジトリです。
研究成果の公開は、論文や学会発表という形で行われてきましたが、近年はそれらをサポートするデータとあわせて公開したり、あるいはデータそのものを単独で公開することにより、データのさらなる利活用をはかることが重要になってきています。 MDRは、論文や学会発表資料等および付随する材料データを収集・保存し、公開するためのデータリポジトリです。ユーザーは、試料・装置・手法などの情報（メタデータ）や収録データ全文から、必要とする文献やデータを検索し、自由に閲覧やデータのダウンロードをすることができます。閲覧・ダウンロードのためのユーザー登録は不要、利用料は無料です。具体的には以下のような機能が提供されます。
研究データ (Dataset) や文献 (Publication) 等の検索・閲覧・ダウンロード
データと一緒に資料・装置・手法などの情報（メタデータ）も記録
公開したデータには DOI を付与。データの引用が容易にできる
このユーザマニュアルでは、MDRの概要と主な機能、閲覧方法、登録方法、最後に資料編として用語集・メタデータ一覧・FAQ・関連規程類・連絡先などを示します。
The Materials Data Repository (MDR) is a service to collect and host publications and datasets related to materials science, in a way suitable for materials research and materials informatics.
Publication of research results has been done by publishing papers and presenting at conferences. However, further use of the data is becoming increasingly important by releasing the supporting data with the research results or by releasing the data by itself independently. MDR is a data repository to collect and store papers, presentation materials, and related materials data to accumulate and release them in a form suitable for the promotion of materials research and materials informatics. Users can search the documents and the data from information (metadata) such as sample, instrument, method, and from the full text of the deposited data, to browse and download them freely. User registration is not required for browsing and downloading, without fee. MDR offers the following features:
Upload, search, view, and download materials research publications and datasets
Describe and search datasets using detailed metadata tailored for materials science (specimen, instruments, etc.)
Support for data citation by assigning DOIs to deposited works
This user's manual explains the overview of MDR, how to view and download its works, how to deposit your works, and the appendix containing the glossary, the full metadata list, frequently asked questions, terms of use, and how to reach us.

MDR は 物質・材料研究機構 (NIMS) 技術開発・共用部門 (RNFS) の 材料データプラットフォーム (DPF) により管理・運営されています。
MDR is managed and operated by the Materials Data Platform (DPF) at the Research Network and Facility Services Division (RNFS), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS).

本サービスの利用者は、本サービスのご利用に際して https://mdr.nims.go.jp/terms に掲載したMDR利用規程類を遵守する義務を負い、また本サービスの利用を開始した時点でMDR利用規程類、 NIMSサイトポリシー 及び NIMSプライバシーポリシー に同意したものとみなされます。
